This is the wonderfully charming and uplifting story of a small orphan boy, the son of a Breton farmer, who finds love and companionship in the most unlikely of places. He falls in love with an orphaned calf. Unfortunately one of the cows in the herd has been diagnosed with mad cow disease and all the animals must be destroyed ... and that changes everything!

"After Arbre sous la Mer (The Tree under the Sea), the story of a young girl and a dolphin, Philippe Muyl re-visits themes of love and compassion by once again pitting the determination of a young child against the injustices of nature." (A.M. - Le Parisien).

"This is a very simple story, full of tenderness. Whilst it is aimed at children, it will remind us all of the importance of following our dreams." (Claude Baignères - Le Figaro)
